COVID-19 Website Update

Belize Gold Standard Safe Medal With the Gold Standard Certification for accommodations, our property commits to the implementation of the new enhanced health and safety protocols, required by the Belize Tourism Board, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, in an effort to protect the health and safety of our guests, owners, staff and the wider Belizean community.

As a vacation rental property, we have also committed to Airbnb’s international standard of enhanced cleaning.

If COVID-19 is suspected or confirmed during your stay, you and other members of your party that you have been in close contact with will be required to self-isolate in a designated room in your condo. You will have to stay isolated for two weeks and receive two negative COVID-19 tests, before the quarantine measures may be lifted. Unless you develop symptoms that require medical attention, you will remain on property, and the Gold Standard Program Manager will make sure that your quarantine time is comfortable. Costs incurred during that period will be at your own expense. It is highly recommended that you obtain travel insurance prior to departure in the event that you become sick while on vacation.

Traveling through the Safe Corridor, you will be required to take a domestic flight from the Belize International Airport to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, via one of the local airlines. Upon arrival in San Pedro, our Gold Standard approved transfer service will meet and greet you for your transfer to Indigo (associated fees). Transfer arrangements will be confirmed prior to your arrival by our guest service team  Below is a visual of the safe corridor process for visitors.

A 20-minute golf cart drive to downtown San Pedro give you many store options, including fresh fruits and vegetables.

Given the high import duty, it is recommended to bring along with you, your favorite snacks or dry foods, such as granola bars, peanut butter, cereal etc. The duty free store in the international airport is a good option to purchase selected beverages. You are allowed 2 bottles per adult.

We do recommend that you travel with your own medical supplies, including masks for all members of your travel party, hand sanitizer and/or face shields. Traveling with prescriptions and personal medication is highly recommended.

Children can do just about everything there is to do in Belize, we have many families visit our country and partake in activities.

A note from the U.S. embassy, “U.S. citizens traveling with minor children may be asked by immigration officials to show U.S. birth certificates for each child.  When children are not traveling with both parents, immigration officials often request signed documentation to establish the children are traveling with the permission of both parents.  Such documentation may include notarized letters from the parent(s), custody or adoption papers, and death certificates in situations where one or both parents are deceased.”

If you are traveling with your children and both parents are not present U.S. immigration may request a notarized document giving permission for the child to travel.  Please be sure to check with the U.S. embassy and have the required documents before arriving at your international airport in the U.S.

Generally speaking, Belize is not well equipped for persons that are disabled.  However, if you are not wheelchair bound, you should be fine. On Ambergris many roads are roughly paved and golf carts are the main mode of transportation. Most of the terrain is sand and beach.  A few places have entry ramps, but mostly it’s steps. When traveling with someone with limited mobility, we do recommend a ground floor unit, that only has 3 or 4 steps to access.

When traveling to Belize please bring or purchase reef safe sunscreen and natural bug spray.  Help us keep our country beautiful for generations to come, so your children and ours will enjoy its beauty, as we have.
