There are all sorts of different attractions to visit including sanctuaries, caves, and the famous Belize zoo, one of the best zoos in the Americas.

Experience the extensive amount of tours in Belize. From cave tours to Mayan ruins and archaeological sites, there are plenty of activities to keep the entire family entertained.

Snorkel in the Great Blue Hole or discover the wildlife in a  marine reserve. In Belize, there are many different above water and underwater wonders to make you say “Wow!”.

Take a ride on a catamaran sailboat and see the gorgeous bay. Or snorkel and see some of the reefs that line the shore. Even if snorkeling isn’t your forte, there are many other water activities to partake in.

There are plenty of amazing fishing spots in Belize including the reef. Catch many different types of fish like grouper, snapper, or grunt over the course of the day. The best part is you can eat your catch. 

If you want to stay off the boats but don’t want to miss out on all Belize has to offer, don’t fret. Try ziplining or rappelling. Every adventurer will have something fun to do.

All tours will include pick up and drop off on your dock, except those that depart from town. Full day trips include water, soda, rum punch, beer, and snacks unless otherwise noted. Please take beach towel, sunscreen, hats, bug spray, gear (if you have your own), park fee in cash, and any spending money as required. Some people also like to carry a clean, dry, change of clothes.

Major Attractions with Multi-Activity Tours

The Great Blue Hole

Location: Belize

Three Amazing Dives or Snorkeling~ Blue Hole, Half Moon Wall and The Aquarium with lunch at World Heritage Site Half Moon Caye home to the nesting Red Footed Booby bird.
The Blue Hole was made famous by Jacques Cousteau’s exploration in 1971 of which he declared it one of the top ten scuba diving sites in the world. In 2012 Discovery Channel ranked the Great Blue Hole as number one on its list of “The 10 Most Amazing Places on Earth. Max depth is 130’.
You’ll need to be open water certified and have been diving in the past 12 months.
It’s recommended to do a local shallower dive before going to the Blue Hole. Snorkelers enjoy this trip as much as divers. Lunch is served on Half Moon Caye which is home to the red footed Booby Bird Sanctuary where you’ll have time to take in the abounding wildlife.

Hol-Chan & Shark Ray Alley Marine Reserve

Location: Ambergris Caye, Belize

The Hol-Chan Marine Reserve was established in 1987 and is FULL of marine life.  If you only do one thing, this should be it. The Hol-Chan channel is about 30’ deep (45 min- 1 hour in the water).  Shark Ray Alley is about 12’ deep (30-45 min in the water).

Mexico Rocks Marine Reserve

Location: Ambergris Caye, Belize

Mexico Rocks has large coral formations.  Depth is 9-15’. Mexico Rocks is a great stop on a full day fishing trip or a fishing/snorkel/Beach BBQ day.

Bacalar Chico Marine Reserve

Location: Ambergris Caye, Belize

Bacalar Chico is typically accessed on the leeward side of the island, allowing you the opportunity to view the pristine flora, fauna, and wildlife (often there are manatee in the channel!) while meandering through the mangroves. Snorkel Barracuda Reef and Rocky Point before heading north to the deserted beaches for a fabulous Beach BBQ Lunch

ATM (Actunichil Muknal) Cave Tour

Location: Cayo, Belize

Adventure awaits in this Mayan underworld cave located south of Teakettle village between Belmopan and San Ignacio.

The tour begins with light swimming across a river, followed by a flat hike beside the river (and two more shallow river crossings) for about 30 minutes. Once at the cave you’ll plunge into cenote like water for a quick swim to the opening.

In the cave you’ll be hiking, swimming, and climbing, surrounded by majestic formations. Inside you’ll see the remains of pottery, bones, and a full skeleton, “The Crystal Maiden”.

Crystal Cave Tour

Location: San Ignacio, Belize

Crystal Cave is considered one of the top 10 crystal caves in the world.

A 45 minute trek through the jungle path leading to the cave entrance will be through a portion of Belize’s vast BroadLeaf Forest.

At the cave entrance, your journey begins into “Xibalba”. With the help of your guide, nearly crawling past the calcite formations, you enter through a narrow descending pathway.

Once inside the main cave, you’re surrounded by spectacular crystal formations that cover the floors, walls and ceiling.

Crystal cave was used by Maya shamans for ritual ceremonies that were performed thousands of years ago. You’ll see fire pits expose the ashes of ancient fires, charcoal pieces, beads, obsidian knives, ceramics, broken pottery, and a human skeleton that calcified in the limestone floor, all evidence of the flourishing ancient Maya civilization.

Belize Zoo

Location: La Democracia, Belize

“The best little zoo in the world” is a tropical education center started in 1983.

All animals are native to Belize and have been brought to the zoo because they can’t survive on their own in the wild or were born in captivity.

Over 150 animals representing over 45 species, all native to Belize. Located about 35 miles west of Belize City.

Community Baboon Sanctuary

Location: Belize City, Belize

This sanctuary is home to the Black Howler monkeys. 

It’s located south of the Boom junction on the Northern highway. 

Best days to visit are Tues, Wed, and Thurs.

Cultural & Archaeological Tours

Belize is incredibly diverse. We have jungle, pine forest, caves, cayes (islands), rivers, rainforest, mountains, and ancient ruins for you to explore. During rainy season caves and rivers may flood.

Full day group trips will include round trip boat transportation, light breakfast, and lunch.

Private trips include your private van, private guide, all taxes, park fees, and gear rental, beverages and lunch.

Travel to the mainland will be at your expense. When on a private trip, it’s your day, you set the pace. We work with only the most qualified, reliable guides in the country! Most mainland adventures are combined, doing 2 or 3 activities in a day. Private trips (recommended for most adventures) can be a combo of your choice.

Please take comfortable walking shoes that can get wet, clean dry clothes and a beach towel if you’re getting wet, light jacket or sweatshirt, bug spray, sunscreen, sun hat, and spending money. Please make request for any specialty dietary needs at the time of booking

Lamanai Mayan Ruins Jungle Adventure Tour

Location: Orange Walk District, Belize

Half of the adventure of this group trip is getting to and from the ruins.

At 6:45 you’ll board a boat on your dock and cruise to the Belize City area after picking up other guests joining this day trip.  During the 1.5 hour ride you’ll be served breakfast and beverages. Near the city you’ll be docking and moving on to land transportation.  The bus ride to Tower Hill is about 45 min, allowing time to enjoy some of the northern countryside. Then, another 45 min. boat ride down the New River through the mangroves to Lamanai Ruins.  The river is thick with wildlife. Monkeys and birds are often encountered. When you reach the ruins lunch will be served before a 2-3 hour guided tour. The trip is done in reverse to get you back to the island.

Xunantunich Mayan Ruins

Location: Cayo District, Belize

Xunantunich overlooks the Mopan River (which you will cross on a hand cranked ferry) near the western border of Belize.

It’s approximately 90 minutes west of Belize City, and is the best, most accessible ruins in the country.

The grounds are beautifully maintained and easy to traverse, the views are amazing, the ruins majestic, and the history is rich.  Because of its location, this site remains quieter with less traffic.

Cahal Pech Ruins

Location: San Ignacio, Belize

These ruins are minutes from the town of San Ignacio, about 85 minutes west of Belize City.

They are perched on top of the towns hill, and remain rustic in appearance.

It’s a smaller 2 acre site that has over 30 structures including small temples, buildings, ball courts, and an altar.

Altun Ha Ruins

Location: Rockstone Pond, Belize

The smaller ruins of Altun-Ha are about 30 miles north of Belize City.

It was the most extensively used Maya site in Belize and a major ceremonial center.

The largest carved jade object in the Mayan world, The “Jade Head” was found here.

Caracol Mayan Ruins

Location: Cayo District, Belize

Caracol is the largest, most inaccessible ruins in Belize. 

If you are up for a real Nat Geo adventure, this could be it.

Located in the Veca Plateau of the Cayo District, Caracol camp is at mile 46 of the Chiquibul (national park) road which connects the western highway to the western slopes of the Maya Mountains.

Visiting Caracol requires flights or 2 days to complete.

Sailing, Cruises & Water Tours

Leeward Adventure

Location: Belize

This houseboat departs and returns at the marina by the new football field on the west side (lagoon side) of the island in town.

Meander through the mangroves to a pristine sand bar where the air conditioned houseboat, with a side and top deck, will anchor. 

Then it’s time to play! The houseboat has a slide, kayaks, fishing gear, paddle boards, and water floaties. Enjoy your time in the water before being served a bountiful lunch.

After lunch you can get back in the water or relax on one of the spacious decks. Boat will pick up anchor at 3pm.

Aces Crocodile Adventure

Location: Belize

ACES offers an educational evening with their crew catching, tagging, and collecting scientific data on our local crocodile population.

This expedition takes you through mangrove islands at sunset and into the starlit night while searching for our islands extraordinary nocturnal wildlife in its natural habitat.

Ages 5+ are welcome. (Smaller children have a difficult time containing their excitement and get a little too noisy for croc hunting).

Their boat departs The Office Bar and Grill in town on the lagoon side at 6:30pm.

This expedition is 2-3 hours. All proceeds go to the crocodile rescue, research, and education in Belize.

Catamaran Charter Sail

If you are traveling with a group this is the way to go! Starting at $120US per person with 12 people minimum.

Turneffe Atoll Reef Dive

Location: Turneffe Atoll, Belize

Cave Tubing Nohoch Che'en

Location: Nohoch Che’en Caves, Belize

On the reserve land of Nohoch Che’en at Caves Branch outpost, 30 miles west of Belize City, you’ll begin this adventure by crossing the river and taking a light 40 minute hike to your drop in site.

Float in your tube through the subterranean site carved out of the limestone foothills of the Maya Mountains on the Caves Branch River.

Are you looking for an unforgettable adventure?

This full day trip is in one of the most spectacular areas of Central America off the Hummingbird highway.

The topography here is karst limestone terrain – remnants of marine organisms impacted through the millions of years that have elapsed since the Cretaceous Period.

In the Maya Mountains nature has carved, sculpted, and adorned with hundreds of miles of cave systems concealed from most of the world.

A 30 minute drive into the jagged mountains brings you to the put-in point.

After a safety briefing you’ll be ready to get in the water.

The first 30 minutes are meandering through the jungle, mountain spurs, and river banks thick with vegetation.

Then, a mountain wall appears, the river plunges underground, and you are in the first of three caves with stalactites looming above and glittering formations all around.

No paddling experience is needed. Physical activity is light to moderate. Generally the cave is very open, but it does have some tight spaces.
